I was approached by a poet, Preeti Apte, who wanted to develop a logo to use on her social media posts. She also wanted a background for her poems that would reflect her voice and personality. She described that she wanted the logo mark to reflect the transformative journey that her life has taken, her spirituality and connection to God. I used a hand drawn approach to add a very human touch to this logo. An imperfect moon and its reflection are balanced, beautiful, inspiring and reflective.

These are the options I initially developed, all related to the themes the client had discussed with me.

I started the process with a lot of sketching. I ended up incorporating some of the unused sketches into the poem template, shown below.
