Branding the Druid Heights Neighborhood
I designed this logo for the Druid Heights Community Development Corporation (CDC). The CDC provides important services to the Druid Heights neighborhood of Baltimore—everything from financial education to providing donations. The logo needed to represent the neighborhood as a whole since the CDC planned to use it to help advocate for the community.
Interviewing the Community
After interviewing community members, I learned that they were working hard to improve the neighborhood and that they were hoping for real change. They felt that they had a strong community where they could rely on each other.
The Final Concept
The logo that I designed reflects the strength of the community by using a continuous black line connecting the neighborhood together. The slanted lines create a sense of movement that reflects the vibrancy of the community members. The leaves and the sun represent the growth and brighter future that the neighborhood is striving towards.
